It is with deep regret that we inform our community of the passing of Elizabeth Wilson

Elizabeth played a pivotal role in the amalgamation of the five communities that make up the West River.  She was a councillor for the former community of Afton, who was asked by that community to explore and investigate the idea of working together for a shared future with the neighbouring communities of Meadowbank, New-Haven Riverdale, West River and Bonshaw. 

Elizabeth was instrumental in what was the eventual amalgamation of the five communities that make up West River. She put together and was chairperson of a working group that put together a Request for Proposal for the Municipal Growth Study that was done in 2017-18, and she wrote the application for amalgamation of the five communities that was submitted to the Provincial Government in 2019. 

Elizabeth Wilson touched many people in the community of Afton and the Rural Municipality of West River. Everything she did was with the idea of bettering the community.
