Excavation Pit Permit

According to the Rural Municipality of West River Land Use Bylaw, Section (6.9), no person shall open or operate an excavation pit without first applying for and receiving a development permit. Where an excavation pit is permitted, the standards of Schedule G shall apply.

The application will be considered incomplete and returned if the required information is missing, unclear or illegible. Also, it could delay the processing of the application.

Pay the fee according to the Rural Municipality of West River Land Use Bylaw (#2022-04) Schedule C. Your application will not be processed until the required fee has been paid:  

• Via e-transfer to admin@westriverpe.ca with the applicant's name or the PID number in the message box, or

• By cheque payable to "Rural Municipality of West River," with the applicant's name or the PID number on the cheque, and

♦ Mail it to 1552-B Rte. 19, New Dominion, PE C0A 1H6, or

♦ Deliver it to the Rural Municipality of West River during office hours, or

♦ Drop it into the Rural Municipality of West River drop box.

According to the Rural Municipality of West River's Land Use Bylaw, Schedule E, The following properties have been subject to a site-specific amendment to the permitted uses or standards by way of an amendment to a zone for a particular property or properties, including properties with identified uses permitted by site-specific amendment during the development of this Bylaw. The expansion or intensification of the below-noted uses or standards shall not be permitted except through a further site-specific amendment or, where permitted, through a development agreement.
